For a few years now, I've been in the habit of making spreadsheets whenever I'm going to make a purchasing decision. In the past few months I've made sheets comparing cast iron dutch ovens, womens open water wetsuits, bumper sticker suppliers, surfboards, medical specialists & dog breeds.
The spreadsheets help me understand the product category and I feel like I have more confidence making a purchase after I've done the research.
Once you're finished though, anyone could use it, edit it, add to it and get value from it. So I wonder if there is an opportunity to build an open-source community where people contribute their spreadsheets for different product categories for others to use? Decisionsheets.com?
